Frequently Asked Questions
Here you will find everything that we thought you'd like to know. If we've missed anything please drop us an email from our CONTACT US page. See you in the studio at the barre!
What ages do you cater for?
We have dance classes for nearly every age – from 18 months to adult!
Check out the About Us page for more details on styles and the Timetable page for when they are on.
What are the concerts all about?
The Studio holds two annual Senior concerts, a Musical Theatre concert, a Creative Movement Concert for our gorgeous babies, a Junior concert and an Intermediate concert where students gain experience in performance and related skills.
These concerts are much anticipated by the students and they work extremely hard towards them. The concerts are not compulsory however we must be advised if your students are not involved as there are additional costume costs for each dance performance which is normally one per class.
If you have any questions about the concerts please let us know. We strive hard for a high standard with our events but most importantly we want them to be fun!
What are the Troupe classes and eisteddfods all about?
As an extension to gifted students and a social outlet, we offer Troupe classes to selected students. These classes provide experience dancing in Troupes, in team work and Performance, and are a great culmination of techniques and skills. They are also a lot of fun! Our students enjoy going out into the world and showing what they can do in various eisteddfods and other performances.
We currently perform in three eisteddfods a year – Wynnum/Manly, Redlands and Ipswich and we ask that, in addition to the eisteddfod classes, students make themselves available to compete at these events. Solo eisteddfod work is also available on request.
There may be additional costs associated with Troupe, these will be discussed with you if your child is invited to join our Troupe classes. Costumes for Troupe events are provided by Kick however as some belong to other students we ask that parents and dancers treat them with great respect.
We are always very proud of our students – not only for their dancing and success but for their sense of sportsmanship, professionalism, team spirit and sociability.
What are the Musicals?
Biennially Kick Arts produce a musical theater production giving students the opportunity to showcase their talents. 2018 saw Moana brought to the stage. The musicals feature both Kick Arts and Kick Dance students in shows that wow the Bulimba and greater Brisbane audience. Kick Arts Musicals give students the chance to tread the boards and gain experience in a professional setting while having fun!
